GMTK 3.5 / 5 STARS :)) TOP 1000 NARRATIVE?

How to play

You play as john cereal in the cereal graveyard. You have a limited amount of time each day to:

  • Get at least 4 food
  • Find shelter

Food can be found in the form of fruit loops hanging from fruit loop branches scattered throughout the map.

The time you have is indicated by the number of small dots in the bottom left of your screen.

A full dayHalf dayGet to shelter! Quick!

Each dot represents 15 seconds. If you run out of time, you will have an additional 15 seconds to find shelter. But, in this period, you may find the world harder to navigate, so don't wait around.

The length of the day is also partially random, so don't count on having a long day to get things done.

How to win

For all the winners out there, here's how to win grain world.

Resting in a shelter with enough food increases your cereal number. Running out of time without reaching a shelter decreases it.

In the far right of the map, there's a door that can only be passed once you reach a certain number. All you have to do is enter that room at a high enough number, and the door will open for you after a moment.

After that, you can enjoy the best credits sequence Godot's default text styling has to offer, with all the assets and software used to put this game together in only 4 days, with about 40 hours of work!

If you can't find any fruit in reach, you can throw rocks to knock down fruit from branches and roll them off hard-to-reach platforms. Sometimes, you may even find spoons, which can be stuck in walls and climbed like poles by pressing the up arrow.

You can also stow items in your shelter before resting to keep them into the next day, if you have extra time.

Apparently if you throw a spoon at the inviswall at the end of the game it technically hits the wall, but doesn't stick to it like it does with most walls
